After studying Business and Communications at Queens University, Laura followed her passion to the Aveda Institute Charlotte, where she began building the foundation for her career. She continued her education by training alongside renowned stylists from respected salons including Neil George in Los Angeles, Pierre Michel in Manhattan, Jon Ric Hair Spa in Charlotte, and under the mentorship of a master stylist and salon owner from Miami. That dedication to learning and growth shaped the stylist—and salon owner—she is today.
In 2011, Laura traded Charlotte for the slower pace of New Bern. Three years later, she opened Magnolia Jane Salon with a vision of creating more than just a beautiful salon—a place where grace, beauty, and integrity flourish together. The name Jane honors the strong, kind women in her family: her mother, Carol Jane, and both of her great-grandmothers, Rhoda Jane and Ocie Jane.
Laura is passionate about cultivating a salon where both guests and team members feel welcomed, supported, and genuinely cared for. She believes the heart of this industry is built on trust, meaningful relationships, continuous education, and giving others the confidence to be their best.
When she's not behind the chair, you'll find Laura spending time outdoors with her husband and children, gardening, reading, writing, serving at church, or enjoying a classic comedy—especially if it stars Chris Farley or John Candy.
Laura & her husband also own Front Street Fish Co, another downtown business that has been family owned for over 50 years!
