Q: Does Magnolia Jane require appointments?
A: Appointments are not required, but are strongly recommended to guarantee the adequate time to complete a through consultation as well as your service.
Q: What should I do before my appointment?
A: We ask that you have an idea in mind for your appointment, or to schedule a complimentary consultation if you need our assistance determining which services you are interested in. Pictures are always a great way to find inspiration for your look. When searching for hair inspiration photos make sure you are looking at hair that is similar in texture & thickness as your own. For formal styling we recommend finding photos that have similar color to your own.
You must arrive with your hair 100% dry for all services. Color will adhere better, styles will hold longer & your stylist can get a better look at your hair before cutting when it is 100% dry.
Please arrive to your appointment on time.
Q: What will be the total price of my service?
A: It is difficult to quote a price 100% accurately without a consultation. If you wish to have a concrete price for your service we recommend scheduling a complimentary consultation. During your consultation your stylist will discuss with you what you wish to accomplish with your hair or skin. Our service menu includes a price list with base starting prices to help our guests determine a ballpark figure. Prices are subject to change due to hair density, length and the time and technique used.
Q: Am I able to give gratuity to my service provider?
A: Service rates do not include gratuity. Our team feels honored when their guest wishes to leave them gratuity for excellent service, we do request that gratuity be paid in cash.
Q: What if I want to try a different service provider?
A: Don't worry, be happy! If you are in need of a fresh point-of-view, please do not feel uncomfortable trying another member of our staff. We are a team and we are happy when you are happy!
Q: Can I return product that I have purchased?
A: Your satisfaction is our highest concern. Therefore, you may exchange any product, or receive a store credit for products only, within 30 days of the original purchase. Styling tools are final sale, warranty by manufacturer.
Q: Where are you located?
A: We are located in historic downtown New Bern. We are tucked away on the BACK side of middle street shopping. We are next to the rear entrance of Bear Town Fudge and on the backside of Lula Balou, facing Morgan's. If you park on Pollock Street, you can cut-through the fountain alley way across from the Episcopal Church to get to us. If you park on Middle Street, you can cut-through Bear Plaza to get to us. If you park on Craven Street, you can walk through the Morgan's parking lot to find us. There is limited parking in front of the salon, but if you need assistance, please let us know when booking and we will reserve a spot out front for you!
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: We understand circumstances arise that may cause you to cancel or miss your appointment. A 24 hour notice to cancel your appointment is preferred. If it becomes a regular occurrence of missing or no-showing for appointments, your stylist may require a 50% re-booking fee for your next service. We appreciate your understanding and respect for our time.
